Getting closer!

The final weekend of Logan's Eagle project was a success. Luckily the weather held off of the planned weekends and allowed him to get everything done on schedule. A great group of boys and some extremely helpful parents providing guidance got everything done. Guyer HS now has benches and tables for the new courts in the expanded tennis center and Logan has his project done. Now all that remains is one last merit badge and the bane of our existence...paperwork!

The next stage: STAFF!

Every summer in high school, I worked as a counselor at Scout camp. These are the memories I have of summer in Texas without much worry, my main concern helping boys learn the world of Scoutcraft and having a good time living in a (pretty luxurious) tent all summer. I did this at the same camp the troop went to last week and we were treated to an outstanding experience. The time has come that someone may be following in my footsteps. Logan and a friend enjoyed their week at TRJ so much they wanted to try out Staff In Training (SIT). This is a week of working at camp, learning the ropes and a pre-requisite for being a full staff member. So, instead of relaxing after getting back home, Saturday was spent washing, repacking, filling out paperwork and taking required training in order to attend.
